Félix Ziem (French, 1821-1911) Venetian Canal Scene , c. 1890-1900 Signed "Ziem" l.r., identified on a presentation plaque on the frame. Oil on cradled panel, 14 x 20 7/8 in. (35.5 x 53.0 cm), framed. Condition: Minor paint losses, abrasions, small areas of pigment fluorescence, surface grime. N.B. The Association Félix Ziem, represented by M. Mathias Art Jan and David Pluskwa, has confirmed the authenticity of this work. It will be reproduced in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné. There is paint fluorescence in areas of red paint located in the flags on the masts on the center right and in the center of the gondola.
