Nathaniel Leander Berry (American, 1859-1929) In the Old Town Marblehead Signed "N. L. Berry" l.l., titled and dedicated "...To Mary from Father, March 6, 1916" on labels affixed to the top stretcher and with a label from W.C. Robinson, Lynn, Massachusetts, affixed to the side stretcher, identified on a label affixed to the reverse of the frame. Oil on canvas, 10 x 14 in. (25.4 x 35.6 cm), stretched with Boston tabs, framed. Condition: Retouch, craquelure, surface grime. Provenance: Sold by the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, Massachusetts, for the benefit of acquisition funds.
