Pair of Meissen Porcelain Figural Sweetmeat Baskets, late 19th/early 20th century, formed as reclining 18th century male and female figure respectively, each seated with a pierced oval basket mounted with flower buds, on shaped rocaille bases, ht. 7 1/4, 7 3/4 in., respectively. Both with undergalzed blue crossed swords marked with pomels, the female figure with break to one of the baskets handles, handle off but present, losses scattered leaf-tip, restoration to her left foot and leg and to bow in hair, male figure with chip at hair, restoration to right hand and basket handle at same hand, restoration to finger of left hand, scattered losses to leaf-tip throughout, loss to end of ribbon in hair and small chips to end of his coat.
