American Aesthetic Movement Ebonized, Painted, and Parcel-gilt Pedestal, c. 1880, square top above an angular apron, the standard incised with angular motifs and carved with flowerheads and fluting, on a square base, ht. 41 1/2, wd. 12 in. Top with age typical wear; central stem with minor chips and wear; lower stem with four cracks to base and heavier than age typical chipping and wear; gilding placed with gold paint.
