Lot of Four Continental Boxes and Cases, 19th century, three lacquered and papier-mâché items, including two snuff boxes: one rectangular, the lid painted with the bust of a king, lg. 3, the other round, the lid painted with a scene of a peddler on horseback at a crossroads, dia. 3 1/2; and an oval eyeglass case with leather accordion sides, the lid mounted with a paint enhanced print of Queen Victoria, lg. 5 1/4, the fourth of horn, the lid mounted with a geometric navette in ivory and tortoiseshell, wd. 3 1/2 in. Bearded man box loss to corner of lid at upper right, crack to upper right corner of case, cracks to both rear corners of body, cracks to base, craquelure and surface wear to lid, the round case with wear and a few rim chips, minor craquelure, the eye glass case with some craquelure and age wear, the horn box good with minor age wear.
