Russian Icon Depicting "The Image Not Made by Hands," 18th/19th century, the kovcheg panel with central depiction of Christ's visage on cloth, held at upper center and upper corners by three angels, 14 x 12 3/8 in. chips to edge of kovcheg panel at right side, with area of loss approx. 3/4 x 1/4 in., and a line of thinner losses. blacklighting shows no retouch other than two small spots of POSSIBLE retouch to right of chin.
