Chinese Export Silver Trophy Cup, Canton, mid-19th century, Cutshing, maker, the bell-shaped double-walled bowl chased and embossed with a continuous scene of a battle and a hunt, with central roundel engraved for the "14th Meeting Canton Regatta Club Trial Race" and dated 1851, with pair of acanthus scroll handles, on tapered stem with everted leaftip emerging from base of bowl, on domed leaftip foot, ht. 9 1/4 in., approx. 32 troy oz. cup compressed slightly to one side, making height of one handle 9", and the other 9-1/4". very minor age wear. lacquered. roundel engraved: " 14th Meeting Canton Regatta Club Trial Race won by Mr. Winchs 2 Pair Scull Wherry Scourge pulled by E.N. Snow and F. Johnson December 1851"
