Two Chinese Silver Goblets, mid to late 19th century, one by Hoaching, Canton, mid-19th century, the bowl chased and embossed with a continuous scene of figures at various pursuits, accented at base with cut-card work fruiting grapevine, on tree trunk-form stem and domed round foot, ht. 7 1/2, the other with Chinese characters mark, the bowl chased and embossed with a continuous battle scene, the tree trunk-form stem wrapped in a small dragon over a larger dragon's head, the domed foot accented with cloudwork and beaded rim, monogrammed, ht. 7 5/8 in., approx. 20 troy oz. Hoaching example: bowl with small shield engraved with chinese characters. some spots of visible solder at cutcardwork grapevine, likely from manufacture. the other with spots of solder repair to stem at body of the small dragon and the head of the larger dragon
