Japanese Silver Plate Hot Water Pot, late 19th/early 20th century, heavily chased and embossed overall with writhing dragon amidst cloudwork, with carved bone handle set at right angle to the spout, the lid mounted with an opaline glass orb finial, ht. 5 1/2 in. handle too heavy for pot, so pot tips over onto end of handle (handle and pot likely a marriage). solder repairs to base of spout, with visible soldering seam joining handle to pot, and a pinpoint hole. spots of old solder repair to dragon's face. spots of solder repair to lid.
