Set of Three George III Silver Sauce Tureens, London, 1773, John Carter II, maker, urn-form, with peaked lids with finials formed as an African male bust within coronet, beaded rims, the bodies chased and embossed with husk swags and leaftip, with lion mask pendant ring handles, on gadrooned trumpet stem and square base, two ht. 8, one ht. 9 in., approx. 36 troy oz. total. one lid from the 8" pair with a dent near the ladle cutout and light edge crease; light ding and a pinpoint to body. the other with a very light nick at lid rim. all with some overall age typical age wear, including some wear to husk decoration. Marks OK.
