George IV Silver Urn, London, 1827, Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard, makers, campagna urn form, with vertical ribbing, the lid finial cast as a basket of flowers, the lobes of lid and body chased and embossed with floral pendants, the neck of body applied with a band of fruiting grapevine, with reeded loop and grapevine handles, flat leaves to base of body, with trumpet foot with ovolo rim, ht. 14 1/2 in., approx. 74 troy oz., the interior of urn fitted with a removable silverplate liner for use as a wine cooler. liner unmarked. minor age/cleaning wear. marks good.
