Wedgwood and Bentley Black Basalt Inkstand, England, 18th century, the stand with serpentine front molded with arabesque floral designs to a dimpled ground, the top with central candleholder, pen tray, inkwell and covered compartment, impressed mark, lg. 6 1/4 in. Literature: Illustrated in Wedgwood I by R. Reilly, plate 709. Slight rim and footrim chips. No signs of cracks, chips or restorations.
