Continental, 19th century. Reddish brown marble inkstand with elongated pen niche at front of two lidded bronze inkwells with bird and spade motif. Hinging on lids damaged, lids lift to reveal glass inkwell insert. Inkwells flank central nude putto figure wearing helmet holding oval Medusa shield and sword while sitting on a pillow, a stylized pillow drapes across his lap. Inkwell raised on four bronze feet. Unmarked. Height 7.75", width 13.5", depth 6.8".
