Kuba Rug, Northeast Caucasus, last quarter 19th century, (minor end fraying, small edge repairs), 4 ft. 4 in. x 2 ft. 10 in. A crude hand sewn repair of an area of selvege damage on one edge (about two thirds the length of the rug). The outermost very narrow guard stripes misssing from both ends. There is a small rewoven spot (two inches by one inch) on the edge. Rug contains areas of synthetic orange dye.
