Portrait Miniature of a Girl Seated on a Federal Sofa Holding a Red Rose, c. 1840, indistinctly inscribed in pencil on the reverse: "Acsah M. Willis aged 10 years when taken by Mr. --th-y," watercolor on ivory, depicting a half-length oval portrait of the girl wearing a white dress, 2 1/4 x 1 3/4 in., housed in one-half of a red leather covered case. Condition: Very good, some pigments very light.
