Faiq Hussain (Iraqi, 20th Century) Composition No. 1 Signed in Arabic l.l., inscribed "McMillen" and identified on a label from Al-Wasiti Art Gallery, Baghdad, Iraq, in Arabic and English on the reverse. Gouache, ink, and graphite on paper, sheet size 8 7/8 x 11 1/4 in. (22.5 x 28.6 cm), framed. Condition: Handling creases, minor skinning. Provenance: From the collection of Louis Albert McMillen. Subtle rippling to sheet, mended tear in u.r. quadrant approx. 1 in. length, pin holes to center of top margin, mended tear to u.l. quadrant approx. 3/4 in. length, adhered to a blue, partly torn backing sheet.
