Henry Plympton Spaulding (American, 1868-1938) Moored in the Grand Canal Signed and dated "Henry Plympton Spaulding 1902" l. r. Watercolor and gouache on paper mounted onto board, 13 3/4 x 4 3/4 in. (34.8 x 12.0 cm), frame accompanies the lot. Condition: Subtle toning. Laid onto paper/board, graphite horizontal line across bottom (which was probably added at a later date to indicate the beveled mat opening), subtle acid burn, frame with joint separation.
