Harry Herman Roseland (American, 1868-1950) The Oracle of the Cards Signed "H. Roseland" l.r., titled and signed "...BY HARRY ROSELAND/17" on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 10 x 14 in. (25.4 x 35.6 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch, surface rubs, minute scattered losses, craquelure. The work appears to be strip lined and then consolidated with wax so that the back of the original canvas is visible. Retouch is scattered dashes and small areas throughout with some mild varnish inconsistencies. Craquelure with some very mild separating and lifting. Losses are minor. A conservation label from Lyman Allen Museum Conservation Labratory affixed to the backing. Please keep in mind that we are not conservators.
