William Hart (American, 1823-1894) Cows by a River Bank Signed and dated "Wm HART 1874" l. r. Oil on canvas, 11 x 16 1/2 in. (27.9 x 41.9 cm), framed. Condition: Craquelure, surface grime. There is either minor retouch or pigment fluorescence to the corners. The craquelure is stable. Most of it is very fine, though there are several small web-like areas that are more prominent. There are also some "shrinkles" within the middle ground. The work might benefit from cleaning.
