American School, 19th Century Pair of Hudson River School Views Unsigned. Oil on board, oval formats, 11 x 13 3/4 in. (27.9 x 34.9 cm), framed. Condition: Scattered retouch, surface grime. Oil on paper/board, backs primed with gesso or similar, small amounts of metallic gold paint from frames to the composition along frame liners, both with fine craquelure in the varnish layer, compositions appear to have been originally oval formats rather than cut down (as paint is visible along sides of board), both with surface grime and small scattered metallic paint spots.
