Modern German Viola, labeled JACOBUS STAINER IN ABSAM, PROPE OENIPONTUM 1654, length of two-piece back 15 9/16 in. , 394 mm, with case and bow. Saddle crack under chinrest, 6 cm. set-up. the two-piece back of medium curl, the ribs similar, the scroll of irregular curl, the top of fine grain, the varnish of a golden red color. nickel mounted bow is illegibly stamped, loss/wear to frog and parisian eye. no other photos available.
