William Ongley (American, 1836-1890) Lily Pond in Summer Signed "W. Ongley" l.l. Oil on canvas, 35 1/4 x 28 in. (89.5 x 71.1 cm), in a period frame. Condition: Surface grime, puncture to l.l., minor abrasions. Tear and abrasion to l.l. quadrant, approx. 1 x 1/2 in., craquelure to areas with heavier impasto such as the rock in l.l. quadrant, not lined, varnish inconsistencies, may benefit from a gentle cleaning and having stretcher keys tightened.
