Jonathan Bradley Morse (American, 1834-1898) Woodland Stream Signed "J. B. Morse" l.r., artist identified in a pencil inscription, in a later hand on the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 22 x 13 1/2 in. (55.9 x 34.3 cm), framed. Condition: Flaking/losses, retouch, craquelure, subtle canvas deformations, surface grime. Scattered fine flaking along right, bottom, and left frame liners, gold metallic paint from frame to u.r. approx. 3/4 x 1/4 in., approximately three areas of thin washes of retouch to l.r. and l.l. quadrants with the largest area in the l.l. quadrant approx. 1 x 1 in.
