Keith Vaughan (British, 1912-1974) Pupitre , 1945 Signed "Keith Vaughan" in ink l. r., inscribed, titled and dated "...1945" on the backing. Ink and crayon on paper, sheet size 6 1/2 x 8 in. (16.5 x 20.3 cm), framed. Condition: Paper pitting/losses, rippling. Paper pitting/losses primarily to u.r. quadrant, due to insect damage. Paper, which is fragile, is attached to the backing at three corners, u.r., u.l. and l.l. There is rippling, particularly along the top edge. There are scattered areas of pitting, l.r. and u.r, and along the center left edge, where there is also a tiny hole. There are two holes through the paper in the u.r. quadrant, the larger measuring .7 cm x .5 cm at its largest point, the small one measuring .2 cm in diameter.
