Walt Disney Studios (American, 20th Century) The Queen /An Animation Cel from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs , c. 1937 Unsigned, titled on the mat in pencil l.l., with a label from Albert Roullier Art Galleries, Chicago, on the backing. Gouache on celluloid with a painted presentation background, probably Courvoisier, sight size 11 1/4 x 10 5/8 in. (28.6 x 27.0 cm), framed. Condition: Rippling, not examined out of frame. The work appears to consist of four layers of celluloid over an airbrushed greenish-black background (front to back): clear sheet, Wicked Witch with book, "cloudy" airbrushed sheet, Old Witch, airbrushed background. Rippling/curling to each layer of celluloid, not examined off of window mat, craquelure to face of Wicked Witch, powdery white substance to surface of clear sheet and to inside of glass (probably mildew), water staining to window mat l.r. approx. 9 x 1/4 in.
