Oil on canvas, 22 x 30 in. (55.9 x 76.2 cm), framed. Condition: Abrasions with losses, light retouch, craquelure, surface grime. Abrasions with losses in u.l. corner (1 in.) and u.r. corner (2 in.) Light abrasion in center, visible in the shoulder area of the man on the bowsprit nearest the ship and extending to the man handing him the rope. Possible light retouch in this area. Pigment fluorescence with possible area of retouch in the center, just beneath the bowsprit.
