Antonio Cirino (American, 1889-1983) View of a New England Town in Winter Signed "A. CIRINO" l.r. Oil on canvasboard, 12 3/4 x 15 in. (32.4 x 38.1 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime, pigment fluorescence, signature partially reinforced, subtle bowing. Slight bowing in middle of the support. The pigment fluorescence appears to be natural, rather than the result of retouch. The signature is in dark pigment shadowed with red pigment. The paper backing on the canvasboard is stained, and there is wear to the board in the l.r. corner. There is a manilla envelope attached to the back of the frame enclosing a copy of the entry on Antonio Cirino from Mantle Fielding's Dictionary of American Painters, Sculptors, and Engravers , 1983.
