William Lester Stevens (American, 1888-1969) The Last of the Snow Signed "W. LESTER STEVENS." l.r. Oil on canvas, 25 1/4 x 30 1/4 in. (64.1 x 76.8 cm), framed. Condition: Scattered retouch, varnish inconsistencies, area of flaking and loss u.l., scattered craquelure, mild surface grime. Surface imperfection under the paint layer, perhaps in the gesso layer, visible in raking light, from the lower edge of the canvas 71/2 in. in from the lower right corner and extending 10 in. in height. Two small paint losses u.l. corner, one with lifting in an area of craquelure. Stretcher bar marks.
