Samuel V. Chamberlain (American, 1895-1975) Lot of Two Proof Impressions of Winter Evening on Beacon Street, Boston, c. 1940, both proofs of the third state (Chamberlain & Kingsland, 269). Unsigned, both inscribed "Third State.../VII" in pencil l.l. Drypoint with aquatint on paper, plate sizes 6 5/8 x 4 1/2 in. (16.8 x 11.4 cm), in a common mat, unframed. Condition: Margins approximately 1 1/4 inches, annotations to lower margins. Provenance: Through the family of the artist.
