Incised Jumeau Bisque Bebe, marked Jumeau 3 and red painter's marks C X II , with closed mouth, outlined lips, fixed amber brown paperweight eyes, feathered brows, pierced ears, long cinnamon mohair wig (tightly fixed down, not removed), and jointed fixed-wrist papier-mache body in the original finish, dressed in period two-piece costume of pale gold silk with fitted jacket over ruched aqua plastron and pleated skirt, matching bonnet, undergarments, knitted socks and monogrammed leather shoes stamped 2 , ht. 11 1/2 in., (glued crack from left temple to top of cheek, eyes probably reset, piercing chip on left ear, some wear in left front of jacket, skirt and socks). Damage as noted to left temple, wig is tightly fixed down and has not been removed. Area of paint wear upper left arm. Costume is period, hand and machine-stitched, lined with cotton, but probably not factory production.
