Large Austro-Hungarian Silver Covered Cup, 19th century, lid and inverted pear-shaped body chased and embossed with spheres, lid finial formed as a standing mediaeval knight, atop four female grotesque scrolls, body applied with winged grotesques ending in beading, balustroid stem topped with scrolled wirework, and applied with further griffin scrolls, tiered foot, ht. 18 1/2 in., approx. 35 troy oz. minor bends to rim of lid, and upper rim of cup. dings/pinpoints to lobing of lid. dings to lobes of body. missing one scroll to base.
