American Rococo Revival Carved Rosewood Etagere, c. 1860, possibly Alexander Roux, serpentine frame carved in high relief with roses, foliage, and C-scrolls, with mirrored back, ht. 113, wd. 63, dp. 25 in. Four laminations counted to front openwork foliate panel and no laminations apparently ; cresting original to piece; one mirror glass panel broken to lower section; two pieces of lost molding to left of mid section, one visible in photograph, the other a C-shaped piece of molding at far left back edge; piece of apron molding off but present; top with large circular water stain with some lifting veneer; age typical minor repaired cracks to open fretwork and moderate shrinkage throughout.
