Wedgwood Black Jasper Dip Apotheosis of Homer Vase and Cover, England, 19th century, applied white relief, the cover with Pegasus finial, the vase having Medusa mask and snake handles, classical figures and borders of anthemion and stylized foliage, set on a raised octagonal plinth with griffin figures at each foot and scrolled foliage and panels of classical figures, impressed mark, ht. 24 1/2 in. Cover; light firing lines to the mound that Pegasus stands. Vase: very good overall condition. Plinth: slight rim chip restored along the top; each griffin with their horns either chipped or with an old discolored repair; one griffin with a wing with discolored repair.
