French Renaissance Revival Opaline Glass and Metal Mounted Bowl, late 19th century, the ovoid pale yellow glass bowl painted with rosehips and apple blossom sprays with gilt accenting, mounted with patinated white metal neck band with two handles formed as rampant dragons, on metal base with shells, strapwork, and a pair of further dragons, ht. 13, wd. approx. 18 in. two pieces broken off one dragon handle; with light wear to gold enamel. rubbing to patination of metal. some surface scratching to glass (not affecting painting)
