Henry Salt (English, 1780-1827) Three Hand-colored Bookplate Engravings from Twenty-Four Views Taken in St. Helena, the Cape, India, Ceylon, the Red Sea, Abyssinia, and Egypt , London, c. 1809, two engraved by Havell, and one by Bluck, titled "Pagoda at Tanjore," "The Vale of Calaat," and "View Near Point de Galle, Ceylon," sheet size 27 1/2 x 20 7/8 to 33 1/4 x 23, unframed; sold together with an unframed hand-colored engraving of Widgeon specimens after artwork by P.J. Selby, sheet size 25 3/4 x 23 3/8 in. All three Salt prints with some minor handling wear, and with browning at edges. Pagoda Tanjore: compression from back of sheet near center (approx. 1" in diameter), with a small related vertical crease (approx. 1"). crease to l.r. approx. 4" Calaat: spotting, some overall minor yellowing, u.r. corner chipps lightly (point gone). Point de Galle: some handling wear, creasing, and with small spots of soiling to u.l. quadrant. widgeon: good
