Russian Icon with Silver Riza, the riza hallmarked 1840, city mark likely Vorange, painted with a young male saint holding an open book in one hand, with a child appearing near his side, cherubs to the upper corners, the silver riza mounted with a gold-washed and colorless paste-set nimbus above the saint's head, the whole chased and embossed with cloudwork, Cyrillic characters in heart-shaped cartouches, and foliate borders, 12 1/2 x 10 3/8 in.
