Three Victorian Tartanware Spool Boxes, late 19th century, two round, one in Lorne, lid set with a photo portrait of the bust of a young man, the other in McPherson, lid set with a landscape scene titled "Lake in Geyser Park," both bearing paper labels to interior of lids for Clark's O. N.T. Spool Cotton, and set with carved ivory or bone eyelets to sides, dia. 4; and an oval in Albert, the lid set with print of scene titled "Interior of Grand Central Depot, 42nd St. and 4th Ave.," interior of lid with label for John Clark Junr. & Co., Glasgow, wd. 4 1/2 in. Lorne: minor surface wear; interior still in tact, with a thimble present. McPherson: surface wear, with some small chips to lid, and base rim; some losses to paper lining of interior. Albert: four (of six) bone/ivory eyelets missing from sides; minor age darkening, and lacquwer crazing over print; posts for spools missing from interior, with some minor loss to paper lining of interior.
