Pair of Wedgwood Black Basalt Vestal and Reading Lamps and Covers, England, early 20th century, each with a female figure modeled seated atop the shoulder of an oval lamp with fluted neck and acanthus leaves and bellflowers, one figure pouring from a jug, the other reading a book, mounted atop octagonal plinths, impressed marks, ht. 8 1/2 in. Covers: both finials restored. Reading lamp: very good condition throughout. Vestal lamp: female's neck and handle to the small jug appear to have been restored; plinth broken in half and repaired.
