James Meikle Guy (American, 1909-1983) Surreal Composition with Submarines / A Three-Panel Mural Unsigned. Oil on fiberboard, each panel approximately 83 x 36 x 1 in. (210.8 x 91.4 x 2.5 cm), unframed. Condition: Alligatoring, surface grime, surface abrasions. Each panel with grooves along side for tabbed joints, comprised of 1/2 in. plywood sandwiched between two sheets of fiberboard; a faint cartoon in distressed condition (heavy craquelure and surface grime) on the reverse.
