Oil on artist board, 12 5/8 x 9 in. (32.1 x 22.9 cm), framed. Condition: Abrasions, surface grime. Provenance: Estate of N. David Scotti, Providence, Rhode Island. N.B. Whitaker, who maintained a studio at 65 Westminster Street in Providence, was the first painting instructor at the Rhode Island School of Design and a founder of the Providence Art Club along with Sydney R. Burleigh, Edward M. Bannister, and Charles W. Stetson.
