Alexis Kreyder (French, 1839-1912) Landscape with Grapes on the Vine Signed and dated "A. Kreyder 83." l.l., inscribed "Maison Merlin/Paul Denis Succr/ Paris..." in a canvas stencil on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 38 1/4 x 30 1/2 in. (97.2 x 77.5 cm), framed. Condition: Craquelure, minor surface grime. Craquelure and "shrinkles" throughout, abrasions along frame liner, subtle rippling to canvas (i.e. not taut on stretchers), thin washes of retouch to all quadrants, small grape cluster in the u.r. quadrant (in front of the sky) with reinforced modeling, most extensive retouch to l.r. quadrant scattered over an area of 10 x 3 in.
