Albert Thompson (American, b. 1853) The Hay Wain Signed and dated "Albert Thompson 1877" l.r. Oil on canvas, 14 x 18 in. (35.6 x 45.7 cm), framed. Condition: Retouch, surface grime, craquelure. The retouch is a dime-sized area to the sky u.l. plus several smaller areas to the sky, plus and areas above and left of the hay (this is a series of sketch-like strokes), plus minor dashes scattered about. The work would benefit from cleaning. The craquelure is fine and stable.
