Fred Pye (American, 1882-1964) Calm Sea, Ogunquit Signed and inscribed "FRED PYE, OGUNQUIT, MAINE" in ink l. r., inscribed "FRED PYE, 1931 BROADWAY, STUDIO 607, ...TRAF 7139" in the artist's hand on the reverse, titled on the artist's invoice affixed to the backing. Oil on canvas mounted onto board, 12 1/4 x 16 1/4 in. (31.1 x 41.3 cm), in a Newcomb-Macklin frame (under glass). Condition: Scattered retouch, mild surface grime, not examined out of frame.
