Samuel V. Chamberlain (American, 1895-1975) Lower Manhattan - Old and New (Chamberlain & Kingsland, 81). Signed "Samuel Chamberlain" in pencil l.r., inscribed "Epreuve d'artiste 3rd State 1/2" in pencil l.l. Etching on paper, plate size 9 x 7 in. (22.8 x 17.7 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins 1 inch or more with deckled edges, subtle soiling, annotations to lower margin. Provenance: Through the family of the artist. Inscribed "(THIS PROOF ALSO QUITE IMPERFECT - NOT FOR SALE)" in the lower margin, presumably in the artist's hand.
