Needlework Sampler, "Sally Fogg Born June 9 1795/AE 11 Years/Scarborough July 18 1808," Cumberland County, Maine, worked in silk threads on a linen ground, with rows of alphabets, birds, and stylized flowers surrounded by geometric borders, 18 x 8 in. , in a later mitered wood frame. Note: Sally Fogg was the third of eight children born to Reuben and Sarah (Libby) Fogg. Sally married Thomas F. Andrews on September 23, 1816. The "95" in 1795 appears to have been added at a later time.
