Needlework Sampler, "Lucy Pierce Aged 9 1807," worked in silk threads on a linen ground with rows of alphabets and a poem of virtue ornamented with flowers, a monument, and geometric vines, (fading, toning), 17 x 14 in. , in a later giltwood frame. The letters "ierce" after P in Pierce are a slightly different color thread than the rest of the letters stitched text on that line, possibly repaired.
