Regency Carved Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer Metamorphic Library Step Chair, in the manner of Morgan and Saunders, England, c. 1820, refinished, (repairs), ht. 35 1/4 in. Provenance: Emanuel Shaw, Chief Justice Arthur P. Nugg to Cynthia Nugg Lane. patching to the scrolled part of each arm; unobtrusive patching to the crest; the stiles may be replacements, and there are unexplained areas on the back of the tablet which may be where old stiles (not these) were attached.
