Art Deco Platinum, Ruby, and Diamond Three-Stone Ring, set with a cushion-cut pinkish-red ruby measuring approx. 9.05 x 8.08 x 4.81 mm, flanked by Asscher-cut diamonds each weighing approx. 0.80 cts., within a pierced and engraved scrolling gallery and shoulders set with thirty-six single and old European-cut diamond melee, millegrain accents, size 3 1/2. Provenance: Ralph and Alice Cartwright, New York, New York, and Rye, New Hampshire. Ralph Cartwright made his fortune in reinsurance of the North Atlantic shipping lines. During the 1920s and 30s he and his wife entertained with lavish dances at their Fifth Avenue apartment.
