Two Table Lamps, Possibly Josef Albers Oak and metal 1941-1951 Pieced column on square block base with early metal socket in ocher paint, ht. 23 1/2 in. Provenance: Descended in the Brewster family. George W.W. Brewster was a prominent Boston architect and supporters of the arts. The family always referred to these lamps as the Albers lamps, as in Josef Albers. Albers was known for his metal lamps at the Bauhaus, but it is unknown if these were designed later.
