Pierre Eugene Emile-Herbert (French, 1828-1893) Bronze Figure of Oedipus, Oedipe , representing the riddle of the Sphinx, with Oedipus standing by a draped, seated sphinx, incised artist's signature and title, dark brown patina, ht. 36 in. Slight dimple/dent and patina loss just to left of right nipple. Dirty overall with minor discoloration in scattered spots. Very good casting and likely done around 1880-1890.
